Weekend Inspo!

Fashion:
Seriously, how amazing, adorable, and perfect are these Céline gold-plated oxfords!? I'm a little bit in love with them ;)

I love the simplicity of this outfit. However, it's absolutely lovely despite its minimalism. Perfect look for these last dog days of summer as we transition into the fall!

Beauty:
Perfectly shaded plum lips? Yes, please! I definitely want to start playing with this shade, and the fall and winter seasons are perfect for this dark, succulent color ;)

Kitteh

Top: Forever 21, Pants: Urban Outfitters, Boots: Soda, Bag: H&M, Hat: D&Y (for Nordstrom), Lipstick: Milani Cosmetics "Chocolate Berries" (get it here!), Watch: Michael Kors

Today's outfit is casual, cool, and a little tongue-in-cheek! I think wearing leather leggings and boots automatically gives any outfit a "cool factor," but my cutoff top and fedora give the look more of a lighthearted feel.

The star of this outfit is definitely the silly cat on my top, whom I've lovingly named DJ Kitteh ;) The graphic is just slightly disarming in its unexpectedness, it's simultaneously weird, adorable, and hilarious! I'm not normally a huge cat person in real life, but any form of a LolCat on clothing is irresistibly delightful to me.

This outfit can be worn during the day, but also at night for a concert or show. I topped it with my favorite shade of lipstick from Milani Cosmetics to further give this look a day-to-night feel. I love the deep burgandy shading of the "Chocolate Berries" lipstick, and, added bonus, it stays on very well, especially when paired with one of Milani's lipliners (I'm using the "Cocoa" shade).

Alright BBs, I hope everyone's week is going well. I have a lot going on, and I'm sure you all do too, so let's just hold our heads high and know it'll all work out, it always does one way or another ;)

MTV VMAs

Well, the VMAs were on last night...what did you guys think? I felt it was a vast improvement to the last number of years. The show definitely lacks the wild anticipation and element of surprise it had in the late 90s and early 2000s...but that could also be because that's when I was a pre-teen and to me it all felt very dangerous and exciting, lol! Anyways, I had mixed feelings towards the fashion on the red carpet. I even tweeted: "Not seeing a while lot of looks that I like on the #redcarpet for the #VMA2013. Being edgy doesn't mean dress stupid and fugly. #eyeroll." I'm including here the looks that I feel "got it," and a few that were borderline but interesting enough to discuss. Let's get to it!
 (All photos courtesy of www.stylebistro.com)
I must say, I was impressed with Taylor Swift - she changed it up! Swifty wore a delicious Hervé Leger floor-length bandage dress, complete with a plunging neckline. I love her 20s inspired hair and her red lips - she looks every bit the vixen, and it's working for her!

Never one to be out-sexied (that's definitely not a word) on the red carpet, Selena Gomez slinked down the media line in this stunning Atelier Versace number. I love the exposed bustier and the thigh-high slit, this girl has legs and she knows it ;)

I wasn't sure how I felt about this look at first, but the more I observed it the more I loved it. Holland Rosen is wearing a risky skirted pant outfit by Naeem Khan. I really appreciated that this was a high fashion risk taken for the risk of style and not for the sake of being edgy and different. I love the cream and jeweled color pairing, the layers and contours of each piece, the fullness of the skirt, and the immaculate tailoring in the pants and top.

I know there aren't too many fans of this look, but I found it interesting. Miley Cyrus is wearing a cropped pantsuit by Dolce & Gabbana. I will be the first to admit that I was never a fan of Miley's, but I've really grown to be a fan of a lot of her fashion and music choices this last year. I feel like the weirder she gets, the more I grow to like her! No, this look wasn't my favorite, but I thought it was cool for her in many ways. I think I'd like the look a lot more if her hair was left in its regular updo instead of these dumb Coolio style mini-buns, lol.

I don't know that I love this dress for this particular occasion, it just doesn't seem appropriate for the VMAs. However, I remember seeing this beautiful Givenchy dress on the runway, and I think Ciara wore it well nevertheless.

Ariana Grande looks sweet and unassumingly lovely in this floral frock by Kenley Collins. I think it's adorable and perfectly appropriate for her age and image :)

Lastly, I really like this crop top and Emilio Pucci beaded skirt that Shailene Woodley wore. She's photographed on the red carpet here with her costar from Spectacular Now and was also previewing her upcoming film Divergent. I actually really love how effortless this look is on her, it's gorgeous but it doesn't feel like she's trying and I love that!

So which performance of the night was your favorite? I liked the weird/naughty Miley Cyrus/Robin Thicke medley and Drake's powerful yet noncholant performance :)

Love you BBs,

I love this outfit! Every detail is ideal: the chunky knit fabric of the burgandy sweater, the floral patterned skater skirt, the studded toe combat boots, the spiked purse, the cutout cross cuff, etc! I definitely will be recreating my own version of this look asap :)

Beauty:
This is just so lovely and absolutely beautiful. I adore the whispy hair fly-aways from the semi-undone style. This floral crown complements and perfects this look to create a stunning, carefree, earthy look!

Best Dressed: TCAs

The Teen Choice Awards took place in Los Angeles last Sunday, and I've narrowed down to just a few fashion favorites of mine from the show. While I was going through the looks on the red carpet, I found myself annoyed by how many young starlets were seemingly unaware of how mature, or even matronly, their outfits were for them. So many of them clearly have no grasp of who they are yet as a woman and fashionista, and therefore blindly oblige whatever a stylist or designer throws their way, even though it does not complement them. The looks I'm showing today present a few stars present at the TCAs who I think really "get it."

(All photos courtesy of www.stylebistro.com)
Yes, Selena Gomez has been dressing extra sexy on the red carpets this past year, however, I always feel that she keeps it fresh while doing so and doesn't bite off more than she can chew - so to speak. I absolutely love this teal, double-slit Cushnie Et Ochs dress she's wearing, it is stunning and tailored to perfection! She let the dress do its thing, and kept the accessories minimal with Nicholas Kirkwood heels and Neil Lane jewelry.

Not everyone was a fan of Lily Collins' look here with a Fausto Puglisi printed mullet skirt and Houghton top. Here's why I like it: while prints such as this palm tree one and cuts such as the mullet skirt are not my typical jam, I love Lily in this look because she doesn't allow it to overbear her. She still appears effortless, whereas, I promise you, manyyyy other starlets would be swallowed by this outfit. Lily is able to pull off funky couture like this without appearing, even the slightest bit, like she's trying too hard. I love that about her.

Nina Dobrev smashed it in this matching J. Mendel top and pants with Dolce & Gabbana shoes. I love the bold splattered print, and this entire ensemble is tailored perfectly, so it fits her like a glove! I like that she kept her hair in a ponytail and makeup very light and minimal looking to balance out her cleavage baring neckline. The light makeup allows for the plunging neckline to be perceived as "slightly risqué" and less "extremely sexy." It's a smart and safe technique to use in order to balance out certain risks with your look ;)

With her naturally striking looks, I really enjoyed how Alexandra Daddario put her look together. She wore this white DVF dress with a jeweled collar and stunning Jimmy Choo heels. With her red-orange lip color, the white dress, and black heels, I normally wouldn't put all these colors together in an outfit, but I love it here on her!

Lastly, we have the gorgeous Shay Mitchell wearing a Jenni Kayne jumpsuit and Jimmy Choo gold pumps. I feel like this is a real woman's outfit, and to pull it off you need to have both confidence and attitude - and Shay nailed it! The plunging neckline adds just the right amount of sexiness to the outfit without overdoing it, and I like that she kept her hair, makeup, and jewelry light and fresh to balance the look. She definitely knows what she's doing ;)

So there you have it, my best dressed ladies from the TCAs! Who were your favorites? Let me know!

Le Parc

Top: Frenchi (Nordstrom), Shorts: BDG (for Urban Outfitters), Shoes: Rocket Dog, Hat: D&Y (Nordstrom), Sunglasses: Ray-Ban, Watch: Michael Kors, Lipstick: Milani Cosmetics in "Chocolate Berries" (get it here!)

Today's outfit is very daytime casual, and it just feels like something you'd wear to the park...if you're into that kinda thing, lol. I started with a billowy, white, button-down blouse and paired it with my high-waisted, burgandy shorts. The look felt casual but more chic and put together than say, a t-shirt and cutoffs would feel. I continued to put the look together from there. I knew I wanted to wear my brown booties because they look great and go with almost everything, plus they're super comfortable (I originally found them on zappos.com fyi!). From the boots, I tried on my fedora and Ray-Bans, which added another cool and chic layer. To top it off, I accessorized with my rose-gold Michael Kors watch, and added the dark, bold lip to also scale up the look.

Have a great day BBs, be sure to stop and smell the roses ;)

Weekend Inspo!

Fashion:
 (All photos courtesy of www.pinterest.com)
I love this all black street style look. It's so chic but still has a carefree, thrown together look to it. The accessories of the bag, booties, and leather moto jacket are what really give it a chic, slightly Parisian feel. It's amazing how accessories and details can direct an outfit :)

Beauty:
I am so in love with the hair and makeup in this look. Her makeup looks so fresh and barely there, while highlighting her eyes, cheekbones, and lips. The nude and peach hues are lovely on her eyelids, cheeks, and lips, while some charcoal liner gives her eyes just the right amount of attention and emphasis. I love the tousled hair, and especially the pulled back front topped with a bow. It gives the allusion of being both well put together and "oh, I just woke up and looked this gorgeous," which let's be honest, is what we all aim for, lol! ;)

Spirit:
 Have an inspired weekend BBs!

Midweek Inspo!

Hi BBs! How's everyone's week going? I'm steadily getting through this heavy work week, and I'll be shooting all day today (can't wait to tell/show you guys this project!). Anyways, to help give us a little pick-me-up to keep us motivated, here's some fun inspo!

Fashion:
 (All photos courtesy of www.pinterest.com)
I love the long-sleeved cropped tee in this outfit, especially since I've been wanting to get one for a while now. I think it's adorably paired with these white lace shorts. Lace shorts aren't as major anymore, but this look just reminds me of how cute they are!

Beauty:
Love layering all these thin-chained necklaces! It's a great way to show different aspects of your life or personality (dependent on the charms), but also maintain a light and lovely look. Side note, I really love the hamsa charm shown in this one ;)

I love the cropped knit sweater layered over this metallic studded miniskirt. It's a combination I typically wouldn't think would work well together, but I actually love it! It looks so smart and chic, and would be a great day-to-night look!

Beauty:
I love love love stacked rings, especially a set like this that incorporates a floral piece!

Spirit:
Have a great Monday loves, back to work I go, wish me luck lol!

Style Spotlight: Emma Watson

Emma Watson has grown up in front of the world. She began as a spritely 10 year old in Harry Potter, and has now become a stunning young woman. Her ever present beauty has only become more prominent, she has a natural beauty and grace that immediately draws attention. However, over the past couple of years, we have truly seen Emma's style evolve and become her own - landing her on multiple best dressed lists and gaining numerous accolades in the fashion world. The British actress has what I refer to as London chic style with edge. She wears lots of layers, knits, and ballet flats, but she always adds a hipster/bohemian flare to the look. On the red carpet, she has been taking more risks as well - playing more with lace and cutouts. She never looks overly polished, as though she's trying to hard, but rather her style looks effortlessly chic and smart. Let's take a look at some of Emma's style hits!

Which style icon this week is your favorite: Blake, Lily, or Emma? I can't decide, I adore them all too much! Have a great weekend darlings!
