Clean Eating Series: Green Smoothie

Nom, nom, nom!!!
Hi babes!!! Well, after being sick for way too long, I decided I need to take better care of myself. And that starts in the kitchen! This green smoothie is DELICIOUS. Seriously. I'm very picky, and you honestly can't taste the veggies in this, it just tastes sweet and yummy. MUST TRY!!

My awesome friend and culinary guru, Lindsay, from Weeknight Bite gave me this recipe and I'm OBSESSED. I'm so enthusiastic about it because I honestly never thought I'd find a green smoothie that I not only like, but I crave. Here's the recipe (I made tiny twists to it):

1 banana (Lindsay does half, but I need a lot of potassium right now)
1 cup (or handful) of spinach (you can also do kale)
1 tbsp Chia Seeds (I used blueberry flax from Trader Joe's)
Dash of cinammon
1 pitted Date (I subbed a dash of shredded coconut instead)
1 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk (Lindsay says you can go 1/2 cup or so)
1 scoop Vanilla Protein Powder (I use Arbonne's + a scoop of their fiber powder)
BLEND!
After pouring the smoothie out of my NutriBullet and into a cute mason jar, I topped it with a pinch of shredded coconut!

There you have it! I hope y'all enjoy this recipe and try the smoothie, make sure you go check out Lindsay's site for tons of delicious and healthy recipes!! This is a fashion and beauty blog, and a large part of being beautiful and in style is taking care of yourself from the inside out! Until next time...

Product I Want: Eyelash Curler!

Hi loves! So since getting rid of my eyelash extensions last weekend, for the first time in 3 years (!!!), my lashes are short, straight, and brittle. My natural lashes used to be quite long and full, so I'm trying to be patient while growing them back. However, once they grow a bit more I definitely want to invest in this product, sworn by many to be THE BEST eyelash curler out there!

While it is a little pricier, around $20, it is well worth it and will not hurt your lashes, unlike other curling products out there. Also, Shu Uemura is now ONLY selling their products online from their website (HERE!), and from my research I found that vendors claiming to sell this product on Amazon are FRAUDS, so be sure you do NOT purchase from there, but rather, only directly on the Shu Uemura website!!

And let me know if there are other eyelash curlers that you guys are very happy with that are yielding great results and not hurting your lashes in the process!!

Oscars 2014

Hi lovebugs!! I've been gone the last week for my best friend's wedding in Miami, but flew back to LA right in time for the Oscars!! I have many snarky comments about the show itself, but I'll refrain from saying them here, if you want to check them out you can go to my twitter page (here!). I was, however, EXTREMELY pleased with the red carpet fashion this year, so let's get right to it!!
(first 9 photos courtesy of www.vogue.com)
Lupita Nyong'o took my breath away in this stunning duck egg blue custom Prada gown. Her headband was so spectacular that it now has it's own Twitter account (seriously), and I LOVE her earrings. She is a fantastic actress and a fashion darling, and she brought it at the Oscars!

There were several champagne colored dresses on the red carpet last night, and Jenna Dewan-Tatum's is one of the most beautiful of the bunch. This Reem Acra gown looks gorgeous on the actress and mother (side note: her post-baby body is unreal)!

When Kate Hudson arrived on the red carpet last night, my jaw dropped. She is a vision in this Versace Atelier gown, and the cape is everything. She is always a golden girl on the red carpet, and last night was no different!

There were only three black dresses that truly caught my eye last night, and Anna Kendrick's was one of them. She is gorgeous in this J Mendel gown, and although you can't see it here, the back of the dress is incredibly sexy ;)

Cate Blanchett looked like the epitome of timeless elegance in her beautiful Giorgio Armani gown. She looks like a movie star, plain and simple.

Jessica Biel in Chanel Haute Couture was a vision!!! She topped the look with Tiffany's jewelry and was a statuesque beauty.

Olivia Wilde is pregnant and radiant in this Valentino gown with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. I loved everything about her look, period!

Naomi Watts looked positively regal coming down the red carpet in this white Calvin Klein Collection by Francisco Costa gown. Her Bvlgari jewels topped the look perfectly.

Kerry Washington was a fashion goddess last night, she really raised the bar for pregnancy couture in this mauve dress by Jason Wu. Topped with her dark vampy lips, she was absolutely stunningggg.

Angelina Jolie, in a metallic Elie Saab gown with Robert Procop jewelry, made me smile from ear-to-ear. She can do no wrong on the red carpet. I love her, she's gorgeous. The End.

Charlize Theron glided down the red carpet in her show-stopping Dior gown like it was no big deal. This woman knows how to own a red carpet and she did exactly that last night. (Side note: I LOVED the sheer straps on her gown!!).

Giuliana Rancic's Paolo Sebastian gown was the first one I saw last night, and I was immediately in love. Paired with Sergio Rossi shoes and iced with Forever Mark diamonds, and she was stunning. I love this look from head-to-toe, she nailed it.

There you have it kittens, my Oscar favorites from last night. What gowns were your favorites!? Any moments during the show you particularly loved?? Let me know, I'd LOVE to hear from you!!

Bisous,
