Imagination Heals Event

Dress: Tadashi Shoji, Shoes: Steve Madden, Purse: vintage Celine

Hello darlings! So although I couldn't find good lighting for my life, I had so much fun at the Imagination Heals charity event held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel last Friday night! I was surrounded by good friends and fellow bloggers, and had a night of merriment and laughter! As you see in the 2nd photo, Kendall Schmidt from Big Time Rush even paused to take a photo with myself and my fellow blogger friends Jen from Channel Jen and Judy from Vogue Villain.

I am wearing a white, lace dress from Tadashi Shoji's new Spring collection, which I adore! I had the skirt hemmed a bit to suit my height and age more appropriately ;) I love the slight "boat" neckline, and the detailing of the lace is divine. Plus, it fits like a glove!

I paired my new Steve Madden nude peep-toe pumps with it. I love the cutout in the arch of the shoes, as well as the adorable bows adorning the tops! To finish off my look, I borrowed this beautiful white, vintage Celine purse from my fabulous Mom :) A bag like this one is an investment piece: it's classic, stylish, and never goes out of trend. It's pretty awesome to have a Mom so stylish and with such good taste that she has pieces like this for me to borrow!

I had such a blast this night, and am so thankful to have been invited by my blogger company Lion Step Media :) Hope you all have a great week and I'll see you Friday!

Oscars 2013

Jennifer Lawrence was the lady of the night, and she certainly looked the part! The Best Actress Winner donned a Dior Haute Couture gown to this year's Academy Awards, and she looked every bit the winner she is. Also, I LOVED her backwards diamond necklace, so elegant, sexy, and effortless - just like her :)

Naomi Watts may not have taken home the award for Best Actress, but I do think she won for Best Dressed. She donned this gun metal, geometric gown by Giorgio Armani, and she was devastatingly beautiful. The detailing, the sensual cut, and the glove-like fit all added to this jaw-dropping look. I truly believe this is the best I've ever seen her look, and what a red carpet moment it was!

Jessica Chastain was statuesque on Oscar night! The Best Actress nominee was both golden and ravishing in this stunning, beaded Armani PrivĂ© gown. The dress accented her figure in all the right places, and she looked both beautiful and confident in it!

American sweetheart Sandra Bullock was so beautiful and sexy in this black, beaded Elie Saab dress. The detailing in the beadwork is amazing, as is the design in the patterning. I love the sheer lower-half, giving a teasing glimpse at her legs. And the mermaid tail bottom provides the perfect finale to the gown.

Charlize Theron can do no wrong in my book, and she once again proved me right when she wore this Dior Haute Couture gown. She is simply ethereal in white, and the structuring in the boddess of the dress is perfection on her figure. Truly, I thought she looked regal last night, and her skin was luminous against the white! Stunning.

Lastly, we close with a legend - Jane Fonda. She never fails to impress me, both on and off screen, and she didn't disappoint at the Oscars either. Proving, once again, that you can look gorgeous at any age, Jane absolutely glowed in her custom Versace dress. I love the canary yellow color with the gold, geometric accents at the waist. What a beautiful, bold statement color to make on a night where so many tend to play it safe! She is nothing short of fabulous.

Well my loves, that is all for my Oscar fashion coverage. It was difficult to narrow it down to a few core pieces, but I was willing to step up to the task, lol ;) Anywho, let me know who your favorites were, and have a wonderful Monday!

Favorite Looks: This Week!

(Photos courtesy of www.stylebistro.com and www.zimbio.com)

Happy Friday kittens!! Here's a round-up of some of my favorite looks this week!

If Taylor Swift was looking to get some revenge on her former boyfriend, then I'm pretty sure she can check box for 'mission accomplished.' Girl looked GOOOOOD at the Brit Awards Wednesday night. I dare say this is the best she's ever looked. Whether you like her or not, you can't deny that girlfriend brought it on the red carpet ;) She is wearing a black Elie Saab gown with peek-a-boo slits and a form fitting cut that enhances her figure magnificently!

Next we have Anne Hathaway in this gold Gucci mini at the Costume Designers Guild Awards looking glowy and lovely. Below that is Ashley Benson in this sexy, cleavage baring gown by Amit GT. I've been enjoying what she's been wearing on the European press tour for her movie "Spring Breakers" so far, but she really turned it out in this dress.

Next up is the golden Cat Deeley looking absolutely radiant in this nude and silver beaded Monique L'huillier gown. The craftsmanship and detailing in the beadwork and design of this dress are truly amazing. To finish up, we have Lily Collins in a Paule Ka dress that is both incredibly sexy and super sweet! I love the statement bow in the back (though I don't know how you sit while wearing it, lol), and the dress fits her like a glove. Well done ;)

So that's all for this week, I'm getting ready for a fun event tonight that I can't wait to tell you guys about! I may post some sneak-peek pics on Instagram over the evening, so be sure you check in with me @blushandbangs ;)

Bambi

Sweater: H&M, Jeans: Miss Sixty, Shoes: Naughty Monkey, Hair Accessory: H&M

So I don't know about you guys, but I just have so much going on right now that I feel like my head is in a hundred different places. When my life is feeling chaotic, I like to keep things simple wherever I am able to. Therefore, today's look is both simple and sweet :)

I'm not the kind of girl that wears pink often, unless it's a very light, soft shade like this one. I have a thing for Bambi, so when I saw this Bambi-esque sweater at H&M, I knew I had to have it! It's a thin sweater, but still holds a bit of structure, and you can't help but feel kinda adorkable when you're wearing it ;)

To continue the simplicity, I'm wearing some of my favorite old jeans from Miss Sixty. I've had these since high school...seriously. I tucked them into my favorite gray, suede Naughty Monkey boots. And to top it off, I wore my floral hair accessory to also accentuate the sweetness of the look.

Alright loves, I'm off! I have 2 presentations to prep for school tomorrow, plus an event on Friday (can't wait to tell you guys about that one!), and another hundred things I have to get done in between, lol! See you in a couple days...

The Liftaway

Top: Topshop, Shorts: Forever 21, Tights: H&M, Shoes: lulus.com, Purse: Tory Burch, Lipgloss: Jordana Cosmetics (color: Watermelon Punch, get it here!)

"Oh, Darling,
I wish we could go back to Heaven
But I don't remember
But I don't remember
But I wish you well"
- Walk the Moon "The Liftaway"

Let's get right to it darlings! I love this top from TopShop. The jeweled collar, the lace, cutout cross, and the design cut make it too adorable to pass up. And as an added bonus, the fabric is buttery soft :) I paired the top with my faux leather shorts from Forever 21. I love the fit of these shorts and how easily I can utilize them in different looks!

The details include my sheer tights from H&M and my double strap Mary-Jane pumps to make the look more sleek for a casual, fun evening outing! I love being able to keep my hands free when I'm out, so I'm not keen on having to hold a bag. Therefore, this wristlet from Tory Burch is ideal to carry the essentials, and leave you worry free :) Lastly, I topped the look with my favorite Jordana lipgloss, and I was good to go!

Have a great Monday BBs, let's start the week off on a high note ;)

What's Pinteresting This Week!

(Photos courtesy of www.pinterest.com)

TGIF kittens!! I wanted to try a new a new segment idea I had, where I pull a few things I found and loved on Pinterest over the week, and share them! So voila ;)

I really liked this outfit starting with the plum lips, the ombré hair in a braid, and the thin, gold, linked necklace. Then the light, fitted blazer with sheer sleeves is brilliant, especially paired with a heather gray tank that's loosely tucked into this art-deco designed skirt. Delicious.

Next, we have a serious shoegasm. But really, how gorgeous are these pumps?! I love the patent detailing in the design, the cutouts, and the back zip. I need these!

Now for a few accessories! We have this gorgeous vintage Chanel charm bracelet, that is simply to die for. I adore these Celine  'Audrey' tortoise shell colored sunnies. I need to try them on ASAP! And we finish with this sweet nail polish by O.P.I. in 'Sweetheart,' - how fitting :)

Anyways, if by some miracle these items could all just appear in my closet, I'd be much obliged, lol! That's all for today darlings, have a great weekend!!

NYFW Fall 2013

(Photos courtesy of www.stylebistro.com)

Well BBs I've been trying to keep up with all the fashion events this week, but still found myself mostly drawn to more of the New York Fashion Week runway shows showcasing their Fall 2013 collections! I've picked out a few that caught my eye to discuss today!

We start with two magnificent Reem Acra gowns. These truly are show pieces. I have no doubt we will be seeing these dresses in magazine editorial spreads, probably shot somewhere just as grand - like Versailles Palace ;) Every detail, stitch, and hem feels regal to these gowns, and I am simply in awe of them.

The next two pieces are by Badgley Mischka, and I love the use of gold  in both of them. The first piece pretty much looks like 'if an Academy Award was in the form of a dress' it would be this, lol! The detailing of the gold beading, is amazing in an almost art-deco-like pattern ending in a tulle mermaid tail. Stunning. The second piece feels more Roman with its tassles and gold stitching against the white. I can see both gowns being worn for red carpet events in the future.

The last two pieces here are from Jenny Packham's show. This red, jeweled gown may seem simple in its design, but its structure is so well fitted and the piece itself feels classic and elegant. I also love the silhouette and chiffon detailing of this black gown. I'm a fan of the sheer straps ascending from the structured boddess, as well. Definitely keep an eye out for these dresses on the red carpet ;)

I hope you all enjoyed these pieces as well, have a lovely rest of the week kittens, and I'll see you all on Friday!

Best Dressed: Grammys 2013

(Photos courtesy of www.justjared.com)

Happy Monday BBs! Lots of awards going on this weekend: the BAFTAS and the Grammys! I'm not covering the BAFTA red carpet, because frankly, I was bored silly with the dresses :( Sorry, but it had to be said! The Grammy red carpet was quite delightful, though!

But we before we get to it, I have to tell you guys a little about the awesome Warner Music Group private Grammy party I went to at Chateau Marmont!! It was so much fun and made for GREAT people watching, primarily because it was very "scene-y." This party was a "who's who" of the music industry as well as actors, and I got a chance to briefly chat with a few very cool, down-to-earth people, including: Paul MacDonald, Jackson Rathbone, Hunter Hayes, and Darren Criss :) Santigold performed, which was so, so fun, and rocked the house. All in all, I was grateful to be a humble observer of the festivities, and a million thanks to my dear friend Darianne for taking me with her! Now back to the red carpet fashion....

Let's start with Rihanna. The girl is stunning, and she is a KNOCKOUT in this red Azzedine Alaia gown! The one thing I wish she would have done is lined it or wore the proper undergarments for the dress. Nevertheless, I couldn't peel my eyes off of her, and I'm pretty sure that's the affect she was going for ;)

Next up are two country-pop queens: Carrie Underwood & Taylor Swift. Carrie is wearing a beautiful Roberto Cavalli mermaid gown that fits her frame perfectly. If Taylor is trying to make her exes jealous, then she can say mission accomplished in this goddess of a gown by J. Mendel! And on a side note, I pointed out this J. Mendel dress just last Friday from NYFW! Yayy me, lol ;)

Now we move on to this gold Vera Wang being donned by the lovely Nicole Kidman. She has been a fashion star throughout this awards season, and I've been loving the style choices she's been making!

Lastly, we have Kelly Rowland in a very daring Georges Chakra gown. She took a risk, she pushed buttons, and she looks amazing. This is clearly a very sexy dress, and there's a lot going on with it, so I think it says something that she WORE that dress, and didn't let the dress wear her. It's nice to see bold risks like this, and I commend her for it!

Alright, loves, that's it for my Grammy coverage! I'm still reeling from the epic evening I had at Chateau Marmont, gahh!! See you soon ;)

Favorite Looks: New York Fashion Week Spring 2013

(Photos courtesy of www.stylebistro.com)

I so wish I could be at NYFW to see all the collections in person (I mean who wouldn't?!). However, I've posted some of the various looks I like, so let's discuss!

Let's start with the best: Zac Posen. This red strapless, silk dress is just beautiful. Its construction is flawless - the paneling is impeccable and the mermaid silhouette is perfectly fitted. Out of all the photos of the runway shows I went through, this is by and far my favorite piece.

Next is Jason Wu. I adore this outfit. The high-waisted leather shorts have been clutch all season. Add to that the beautifully detailed sheer top AND white suspenders, and we've got a winner! I really love when you can add suspenders to a chic outfit and not have to play nerdy-cute, this is just sexy and gorgeous. End of.

Now we move on to Dennis Basso, a designer I'm less familiar with, but very impressed with. First we start with the black mermaid gown. I love the lace, the cut, the silhouette, and the detailing. Basically all of it. I think it's classic and daring simultaneously, and great for a glam red carpet event. I also like the mini dress, adorable for a premiere. I love the detailing on the sheer sleeves, and of course the structured bodess for a great fit. Love it :)

For some soft, feminine spring colors Alice + Olivia is a go to collection. This pink striped dress just made me feel all gumballs and lollipops, very spring, and super fun!

Lastly, we close with this white Grecian goddess gown by J. Mendel. The chiffon skirt is flowing, and how could you not feel like a queen when donning this piece?

Alright my loves, that's what I rounded up from NYFW so far, we'll see if anything else of interest comes up! Have a wonderful weekend ;)
